Certificate of Achievement in Intermediate English

Study with us at the University of Central Lancashire and take your English up to the level necessary to begin a preparatory course of study. This programme will develop your language and skills in English and will also begin to give the skills you will require to complete undergraduate or postgraduate courses. You will also have a personal tutor to help you develop your learning skills. Successful students on this one-semester course will be able to advance to the either the Foundation Certificate in English for University Study.

Teaching, Learning & Assessment

This is a one module programme. You will study 16+ hours a week in class but you will also be expected to carry out guided learning tasks outside the classroom, complete homework and study independently. The course will cover a variety of topics and you will be encouraged to explore your new life in the UK and compare it with your previous experiences. The course is very much focussed on communication and you will have many and regular opportunities to practise your English.

Entry Requirements

In order to enrol on the programme you will need an IELTS score of 3.5 or equivalent in another internationally recognised examination. If you do not have such a qualification we can arrange for either testing or an interview.

Course Dates and fees:

The Certificate of Achievement in Intermediate English is a one semester programme with a September and May start. When you successfully complete the programme you will be able to progress onto the Foundation Certificate in English for University Study.

The cost of this one semester programme is £1995
